NBCC

Part of NBCC’s mission is to enhance the professional identity of National Certified Counselors (NCCs). NBCC accomplishes this goal in several ways, including evaluating and modifying degree requirements for the NCC credential. This ensures that certificants have a degree relevant to the current state of the counseling profession. The NBCC Board of Directors recently approved several application requirement changes.

The Counselling Association of Nigeria Annual Conference August 27-31, 2012
The Counselling Association of Nigeria (CASSON) is holding its annual conference at the end of August in Oduduwa Hall at Obufemi Awolowo University, lle-lfe, Osun State, Nigeria. The theme of the conference is the Imperatives of Professional Counseling frameworks for addressing sustainable global security concerns.
NBCC International
A two-week institute for counselor educators and practitioners will be held in Bhutan October 24-November 12, 2012. The purpose of the institute is to introduce counselors to Bhutan as well as provide an opportunity for brief counseling and teaching.

NBCC is pleased to announce the 13th Edition (2011) of Counselor Preparation: Programs, Faculty, Trends, by Wendi K. Schweiger, Donna A. Henderson, Kristi McCaskill, Thomas W. Clawson and Daniel R. Collins. Co-published with Routledge, this latest edition includes information about counselor education trends in the U.S., and individual counseling program listings from universities inside and outside of the U.S. Copies are available through Routledge at www.routledge.com
NBCC International
NBCC is pleased to announce that NBCC International (NBCC-I) is accepting applications for a grant worth up to $8,000 for the research evaluation of the Mental Health Facilitator (MHF) program. The grant includes a $3,000 stipend from the NBCC Foundation provided in support of the MHF evaluation, plus additional funding from NBCC-I for research-related travel. NCCs with doctoral degrees and research experience are invited to submit an application.

The University Sains Malaysia, a collaborating partner of NBCC-I and home of NBCC Malaysia, is currently seeking a Visiting Professor in the field of Community Engagement.
